Johny Srouji, SVP Hardware Technolgies at Apple
On October 23, 2025, the TUM Speakers Series proudly welcomed Johny Srouji, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies, to the Audimax at TUM’s main campus for an extraordinary evening
In a rare public appearance, Srouji offered a compelling look into Apple’s world of innovation, sharing how the company creates the technologies behind its iconic products—from iPhones and Macs to Apple Vision Pro. As the executive responsible for Apple’s custom silicon and hardware technologies, Srouji took the audience behind the scenes of building the A-series and M-series chips, reflecting on key milestones like the M5 launch just a week prior.
The keynote touched on everything from Srouji’s bold decision to join Apple in 2008 to his vision for the next 15 years of innovation. With Munich being home to Apple’s largest site in Europe, he highlighted the unique role TUM talent plays in shaping Apple’s future and gave tangible advice to students on the skills needed in today’s fast-moving tech landscape.
Through a mix of personal stories, technical depth, and future-forward thinking, Srouji captivated the full-house audience and offered invaluable lessons on leadership, engineering excellence, and thinking at scale.
The evening concluded with a strong sense of inspiration and connection — and a huge round of applause for both Johny and our moderator, Josef Schmid, for leading the conversation insight.
A sincere thank-you to TUM President Thomas F. Hofmann and everyone who contributed to making this special evening possible.
