Safra Catz

CEO, Oracle

On February 15, 2024, the TUM Speakers Series proudly welcomed Safra Catz, Oracle’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), to the Audimax at TUM’s main campus for an extraordinary evening.

As part of our partnership with the Munich Security Conference (MSC) we were delighted to host Safra Catz from Oracle.

In her keynote she provided insights on the widespread adoption of Oracle’s cybersecurity-focused cloud solutions and emphasised the impact of economies of scale. She also spoke about the significant impact that generative artificial intelligence will have on our world, such as advancements in the medical field or supply chain optimisations.

Later on, Safra also shared ten life lessons she learned through working in various positions over the years. She urged students to “be open to new ideas” and take risks, noting that “if you don’t ask, you don’t get”. Referring to a life lesson learned from Oracle founder Larry Ellison, she encouraged students to think critically: “If it doesn’t make sense, it doesn’t make sense”.

The evening concluded with a networking event on top of our university, the Vorhoelzer Forum, giving our guests the opportunity to exchange and discuss their own ideas.

A sincere thank-you to TUM President Thomas F. Hofmann, Dr. Benedikt Franke and everyone who contributed to making this exciting evening possible.
