Dr. Johannes Bussmann, CEO of TÜV Süd

On June 15th, we had the honor of welcoming Dr. Johannes Bussmann, CEO of TÜV SÜD, to the TUM Speakers Series at the Technical University of Munich.

In his keynote, Dr. Bussmann emphasized a powerful message:
"Safety may be invisible—but it is the true foundation of innovation."
As technologies become more complex and interconnected, the role of institutions like TÜV SÜD in building trust, ensuring quality, and enabling responsible progress has never been more important.
With deep insights from his leadership experience at Lufthansa Technik and now TÜV SÜD, Dr. Bussmann shared how safety is evolving in an era defined by digital transformation and rapid change. From AI to mobility, he called for a mindset where innovation and responsibility go hand in hand.
